A-Sonic Aerospace Ltd - Trades below cash with buy backs underway
Recommendation: Non-Rated;  Last close: S$0.50; Analyst Paul Chew
A-Sonic is providing supply chain management services to global locations, including the US, Asia and Europe. The company specialises in a range of logistics solutions. It provides international and domestic multi-modal transportation, warehousing, distribution, customs clearance and airport ground services.
PATMI has been stable the past five years despite continued disruption in global supply chains. 2H25 earnings grew 16.5% YoY to US$2.6mn from expanding margins from more customised projects and direct-to-customer solutions. The growth in semiconductor exports will be a key driver in FY26, driven by Malaysia and Singapore customers.
With a net cash of US$46mn, the share price is trading at a 14% discount to net cash and 22% discount to book value. The company has been consistently buying back shares to close the discount to book value. There was 2.6mn shares purchased in FY25. The most aggressive on record. The highest price purchased was S$0.535. We believe the cash hoard provides the company with an avenue for inorganic growth.

Mar 2026 Portfolio review

Portfolio target for CY 2026
Maintain dividend yield of 5.5% on cost (Current 5.4%)
Reduce PTY to under 15% (Current 15.89%)
Increase exposure to IWDA and SCHD to 3% ( Current 2.04%)
Increase exposure to Singapore stock market to 40% ( Current 36.38%)

One of my brokers processed the withholding tax for my US counter and it amounted to around 300 USD about 15% of the withholding tax that i paid for last year. With that , my dividends for CY 26 is likely to hit 9K. I am still expecting a further bunch of tax refund for $MAIN and $PTY back for FY 2025.

This year marks the 4th year that i am experimenting with covered call ETFs series such as the Q,R,X YLD seris on the american stock market, currently only $QYLD has positive total return due to withholding tax refunds year on year and it has provided the portfolio with much needed dividends. I have also tried the LSE variant and so far it is generating positive returns.  Of course there are comments that due to high withholding tax returns , and we have to wait patiently for the exchange to refund the returns.

Happy to see some of my laggard Singapore stocks woken up such as $AEM(AWX.SI)  and $Oiltek(HQU.SI)  . I personally think that Oiltek movement is unjustified, the movement just doesnt seem to match the story being told. Also one of my top SG holding $Valuetronics(BN2.SI)  amova has entered probably partly due to the MAS EQDP fund being deployed, i will probably add a little bit more when i have more cash .
