Famous Dave's of America, Inc. (Famous Dave's) operates restaurants. As of January 1, 2012, there were 187 Famous Dave's restaurants operating in 37 states, including 54 company owned restaurants and 133 franchise operated restaurants. Famous Dave's restaurants, a majority, of which offer full table service, feature hickory-smoked off-the-grill entree favorites. As of January 1, 2012, out of its 54 restaurants, 48 were full-service restaurants and 6 were counter-service restaurants. Its full-service includes 26 Lodge format, six Original Shack format, Blues Club format and 15 prototypical formats. Its counter-service includes five Original Shack format and one Shack format. The Company's prototypical design includes a designated bar, a signature exterior smokestack, a separate entrance for its TO GO business and a patio. On March 2, 2012 the Company sold the assets of its Tulsa, Oklahoma restaurant.
