Independence Realty Trust, Inc., is a real estate investment trust (REIT). The Company holds a portfolio of multifamily properties and intends to invest in a diversified portfolio of multifamily properties. As of March 31, 2013, the Company owned eight multifamily properties with 2,004 units located in Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Indiana, Texas and Virginia. The Company�s portfolio consists of Belle Creek Apartments, Centrepoint Apartments, Copper Mill Apartments, Crestmont Apartments, Cumberland Glen Apartments, Heritage Trace Apartments, Runaway Bay Apartments and Tresa at Arrowhead. The Company is managed by a subsidiary of RAIT Financial Trust (RAIT). In February 2014, it acquired an apartment community located in Waukegan, Illinois. Effective February 6, 2014, Independence Realty Trust Inc, a unit of RAIT Financial Trust acquired Reserve at Eagle Ridge. In June 2014, Independence Realty Trust acquired apartment community located in Ridgeland, Mississippi.
