Barnwell Industries, Inc. (Barnwell) operates in four segments: Oil and Natural Gas Segment, Land Investment Segment, Contract Drilling Segment and Residential Real Estate Segment. The Company�s oil and natural gas segment is engaged in oil and natural gas exploration, development, production and sales in Canada. Its land investment segment invests in land interests in Hawaii. The Company�s contract drilling segment provides well drilling services and water pumping system installation and repairs in Hawaii. Its residential real estate segment develops homes for sale in Hawaii. Barnwell holds an 8.9% working interest in the Dunvegan Unit which, at September 30, 2013, had 220 producing natural gas wells. In fiscal 2013, Barnwell participated in the drilling of seven gross (1.6 net) gas wells in the Dunvegan area.
