The Cushing MLP Total Return Fund (the Fund) is a non-diversified, closed-end investment company. The Fund�s investment objective is to seek to produce current income and capital appreciation. The Fund would seek to achieve its investment objective by investing at least 80% of its net assets, plus any borrowings for investment purposes, in master limited partnerships (MLP) investments; up to 50% of its managed assets in securities of MLPs and other natural resource companies; up to 20% of its managed assets in securities of companies that are not MLPs, including other natural resource companies, and United States and non-United States issuers, and up to 20% of its managed assets in debt securities of MLPs, other natural resource companies and other issuers.
