James Hardie Industries Plc is a manufacturer of fiber cement products and systems for internal and external building construction applications in the United States, Australia, New Zealand, and the Philippines. The Company markets its fiber cement products and systems under various Hardie brand names, such as HardieBacker boards, and other brand names, such as Artisan Lap and Artisan Accent Trim by James Hardie, Cemplank and Prevail siding, and Scyon advanced lightweight cement composite products, such as Scyon Stria cladding. The Company�s fiber cement products are used in a number of markets, including new residential construction (single and multi-family housing), manufactured housing (mobile and pre-fabricated homes), repair and remodeling and a variety of commercial and industrial applications. In June 2014, James Hardie Industries plc announced that Commonwealth Bank of Australia and its related bodies corporate ceased to be a substantial share holder of the Company.
