Hilltop Holdings Inc. (Hilltop) is a holding company. The Company also provides fire and homeowners insurance to low value dwellings and manufactured homes primarily in Texas and other areas of the south, southeastern and southwestern United States through its wholly owned property and casualty insurance holding company, NLASCO, Inc. (NLASCO). NLASCO operates through its two wholly owned subsidiaries, National Lloyds Insurance Company (NLIC) and American Summit Insurance Company (ASIC). NLASCO provides insurance products in the personal line and the commercial line markets. The personal lines include homeowners, dwelling fire, manufactured home, flood and vacant policies. The commercial lines include commercial, builders risk, builders risk renovation, sports liability and inland marine policies. On November 30, 2012, the Company acquired PlainsCapital Corp.
