Globus Medical, Inc. (Globus) is a medical device company focused on the design, development and commercialization of products that promote healing in patients with spine disorders. As of December 31, 2011, the Company had launched over 110 products and offers a portfolio of products addressing a range of spinal pathologies, anatomies and surgical approaches. The Company's products fall into one of two categories: Innovative Fusion or Disruptive Technologies. The Company's Innovative Fusion products address a range of spinal fusion surgical procedures. Spinal fusion is a surgical procedure to correct problems with the individual vertebrae, the interlocking bones making up the spine, by preventing movement of the affected bones. In July 2012, the Company acquired the assets of a small company with operations in the United States and Germany, including a new product designed to treat vertebral compression fractures (VCFs). In January 2014, Globus Medical Inc acquired Excelsius Surgical.
