The Company, through four bank subsidiaries, provides commercial and retail banking services through main banking and branch facilities located in communities in South, Central and Southeast Texas and the State of Oklahoma.. As of December 31, 2012, the Company had 215 facilities and 339 automated teller machines (ATMs). The Company, through its bank subsidiaries, is in the business of gathering funds from various sources and investing those funds in order to earn a return. The Company's primary earnings come from the spread between the interest earned on interest-bearing assets and the interest paid on interest-bearing liabilities. In addition, the Company generates income from fees on products offered to commercial, consumer and international customers. The Bank�s investments are made in loans to individuals and entities, as well as in debt securities of the United States Government and other entities.
