Unico American Corporation (Unico) is an insurance holding company that underwrites property and casualty insurance through its insurance company subsidiary; provides property, casualty, and health insurance through its agency subsidiaries, and provides insurance premium financing and membership association services through its other subsidiaries. The Company's operation is conducted through Crusader Insurance Company (Crusader), Unico�s property and casualty insurance company. The Company's other insurance operations include general agency operations, insurance premium finance operation, association operation and health insurance operation. During the year ended December 31, 2011, approximately 98% of Crusader�s business was commercial multiple peril policies. As of December 31, 2011, Crusader was licensed as an admitted insurance carrier in the states of Arizona, California, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington.
