Guys, Geo is not going into blockchain

But the new CFO is a founder of this related start up

TTI’s digging ard and due diligence is always v comprehensive and intense.
If there’s a new guy on the management team, I wanna know what drives him and what he’s up to

Already, by uncovering this, I’d need to ask new CFO how he can manage to be the CFO of a public listed company and yet run this start up

I also now know his previous remuneration package. Geo should b paying him above that.

Reply to @IMLES : Geo organizes investor briefings quite frequently, don't have to wait till AGM
They're supposed to be attended by analysts...
but I don't think analysts will investigate the new CFO, so you'd have to attend and ask yourself

I've invested in a few crypto, but I've always been sceptical towards most ICOs (yes they can be easy multibaggers, but so are the pets.com). Basically, most icos are unregulated IPOs and most are bullcrap, haven't looked in depth at the whitepaper, but at this point, a FA on icos is best focused on the people behind the ICOs, the successful and legit ICOs usually have extremely competent software engineers behind it, anybody else would just make it really sketchy

Abit too late at night for this, but im also interested to find out Geo energy's chief financial control involvement in this particular ICO. Would look into it tomorrow morning if I have the time

Reply to @warster : Okay, just took a glance at the whitepaper, the LinkedIn profiles of the team, and checked out their github activities.

At the very least, this ico doesn't seem like a scam. Developers and founders have decent LinkedIn histories, github has only 1 commit so far which shows that their development is quite slow but I understand they haven transferred their activities to github so it is understandable.

It is an interesting project (basically decentralizing and monetizing your photos, unlike fb which owns your photos), it's more like Pinterest than fb. But like most ICOs, you get the impression that they first created the solution and are now seeking the problem.

This ico is pretty new, and in fact, does not even launch till 24th jan 2018. And the road map shows a lot of future development at least till the 3rd quarter of 2018, and seed funding from ico is about 300k. Not impressed

Blockchain is a technology that facilitates sharing and transfer of data using cryptography in a distributed manner. Meaning it is super secure and is a step up compared to decentralisation. People always confuses decentralisation and distributed data but that’s for another day...

Data here can mean a million and one things to a million and one people. Thus taking it forward, blockchain can also be used to store data such as bitcoin and it can be used to transfer those bitcoin data in a safe and totally distributed way in an OTC manner. This means it’s peer to peer with no means of shutting it down or hacking it.

Taking it even another step forward it can also be used to connect peers/individuals to one another for things other than bitcoin. In this case to play games like the (in)famous cryptokitties or to store data such as pictures, music and contracts. Hence the term smart contracts and why banks are all over blockchain.

Thus if you use blockchain for social networking it means you can use it anonymously, free of tracking, hacking and being shutdown. Govts will not be able to control it cue China.

ICOs is equivalent to IPOs except again it uses blockchain technology to raise money by selling coins aka tokens. This bypasses middleman, scrutiny, faster time to market and a larger windfall compared to traditional old school IPOs.

Interestingly, almost all this can be done currently using the Ethereum blockchain and the ether cryptocurrency. This ICO will most likely be on etherruem like the 90% of other ICOs.

Now how much bitcoin will you donate to me for writing all these up for you? And if it’s not apparent already, get into the Crypto world before you lose out on first mover advantage.
