For those wondering if CDG will tap into autonomou driving/driverless vehicles anytime soon. I enquired and this is the answer they gave me, may or may not answer my question, but i think its good to let yall know about it.

'Thank you for your email. We constantly keep abreast of technological developments and will adopt technologies that are commercially viable and make economic sense for our businesses. This applies to autonomous vehicles and transport systems as well. '

Reply to @Heracles : I think they are not so ready yet, maybe partner with ST Kinetics. They are more keen waiting for UG drivers to come back driving taxis next year after Apr (tax income returns) and Jun (deadline of PDVL). The losing of taxi drivers (and therefore the downsizing of taxi fleet) should stabilise or stop by next year Jun, my prediction.

There is a lot of expectations riding on the Uber alliance. Frankly I don't expect much benefits from an alliance which I think is the reason that they are taking so long. The only real benefit for CDG is the maintenance of the huge Uber fleet but then Uber might not find CDG cost attractive enough as they are more expensive than smaller workshops. So don't be surprised if the expected catalyst becomes negative news.
The main problem is the CDG management, they are so used to be in the dominant position they really don't know how to react to the competition. They just go back to the usual buying of taxi companies overseas. It does not inspire confidence.

Reply to @Pizzaprata : In fact I feel the same here, the benefit to CDG of the alliance is mainly the maintenance of the Uber's PHVs. The booking platform has limited benefit. But I'm hopeful that Uber will agree to let CDG maintain the PHVs, not because it is cheap but it could be one of the major conditions of the alliance dictated by CDG. You know the date I of Uber is pretty bad if there is no alliance. If no alliance, CDG may only drop share price, but for Uber it is a definite and rather fast death.
