In SG context 80% live and own their 99 years leasehold HDB. What will happened to them? Definitely it will be a political suicide for the current government to allow the values to go to zero. In fact you do not need to wait for 99 years, when a leasehold property has less than 50 years left; the value will start depreciating faster.

The article did not provide a solution. So what do Hdb owners with less than 40 years lease need to do next? Sell buy new one? What about those with Hdb and condo, sell off hdb or rent it out till government come out with a solution?
