InvestingNote Workshop Series

Hi everyone, we're having another workshop and this time round, it's The Guide To Doing Fundamental Analysis, conducted by our community member, @brennenpak!

We all know that the FA process for a stock is a really tedious one. It can also be very intimidating, require accounting and finance knowledge. We know this problem and so now this is a step by step guide for all the important things to look out for when you're doing your own.

If you've always wanted to get started with the FA process, this workshop will help you.

So, mark your calendars for 30th June, Friday.

Limited seats only. Register now to avoid disappointment.

See you there!

Thanks @BrennenPak , @InvestingNote & @MaybankKimEng for having us :) Time well spent on a Friday evening. Glad to hear ideas that echo mine and of course new ones.

BrennenPak :

Reply to @dr3amgawd : I am glad that you have picked up a few key learning points. They are critical things that one should always remember as long as one is in stock investments. There are definitely more. Not possible to sure everything within 2-hours.

yapjt :

Thanks Brennen for the workshop, appreciate the open sharing of your valuable experiences!

BrennenPak :

Reply to @yapjt : I hope you guys have learned something in this session. Two hours, in my opinion, was a bit short. I believe I had spoken faster than normal but still exceeded the time. I wanted the session to be both educational as well as a sharing of experience. If given more time, I hope to explain more. Nevertheless, I enjoyed the session very much. You have been a good audience.

Frankly, TA can't make you much money. The big boys who know the direction of the stocks draws the chart!!!.

mrmarket :

Reply to @Billions : Whichever method you are comfortable and have made money consistently is a good method :). Im not a person who looks at chart patterns and etc and thus far it hasn't hurt me.

BrennenPak :

Reply to @dr3amgawd : Thank you for joining me in this coming session. Perhaps, I can learn from you too.

BrennenPak :

First of all, I would like to thank those who had already signed up for my sharing this coming Friday. As it is, some of you may have interpreted the 2hr session as a course. Frankly, I can’t possibly compress my investing experience into a 2-hour course, perhaps not even a 3-day course that we offer. It is not a course to teach how to derive PE ratio or some magic mathematical numbers, which a lot of people tend to associate with FA. With the good and bad experience that I had gone through in all these investing years, I am putting them into a structured form of what I would do or what I would not do if I were to start all over again. The 2-hour session is not plain cheap talking, but bringing out examples substantiated with financial numbers, financial reports, illustrations and game-changing events. In fact, this is what Fundamental Analysis (FA) is all about, and not what many who had mistaken it for pure theoretical financial analysis course. I believe this session would be useful for those who wanted to step into this irrational world of stock investing and even for those have already have some years of stock investing experience. No doubt, it is a 2-hour session, but compressing the learning curve goes a long way. As we always learn from investment books that once we are able to invest correctly, the return is not just linear ….it is in effect compounding. Can you imagine, should I have not lost that first 10 years of irrational investing, the compounding effect would have been even more significant. Unfortunately, I am not able to wind back the clock to undo all the mistakes that I had made. I can only move forward and share the wrongs that I had made. That said, I had also benefited financially in this investing journey. In this sharing session, I will touch on what I had done correctly and what are the considerations that had led me to taking those significant courses of actions supported by illustrations and numbers. Imparting an experience shortens the learning curve. This is the REAL value.

BrennenPak :

Reply to @JkaWoof : Sure, if there is a sufficient group of you interested, perhaps, can get IN to organise. But 2-hour is definitely not to teach sufficiently on how to read the annual report. There are more things to picked out from it.

seems like only a 2h workshop. would that be if beneficial..?

InvestingNote :

Reply to @hotshot1988 : If you're keen to learn the most in just 2 hrs, this will be short and sweet. @brennenpak is our community member, a blogger and also a stock educator. Good thing is, you can always ask Brennen questions during Q&A! We hope to see you there :)
